In Astrea, you can fix the dice

A bad roll becomes a problem to work on, with dice faces you can change yourself.

Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles gives you dice to build around, including risky ones that can help the enemy or hurt you. You can alter their faces, manipulate rolls and sometimes make hurting yourself part of the plan.

Our Algebra suggests Slay the Spire + Dicey Dungeons. The resemblance goes beyond rolling instead of drawing. You’re choosing how much uncertainty to let into a build, then collecting ways to handle it. Purification heals you and hurts enemies; corruption does the reverse, but can also unlock your abilities.

That takes some reading. Players who enjoy the combinations still describe a lot to keep track of, and a risky build can produce a miserable roll.

Our recommendation

Try it if making a build reliable is as satisfying as making it powerful. Give the unfamiliar rules a little time.
