Monster Train gives your Slay the Spire deck three floors to defend

The right creature in the wrong place can still let the whole train down.

In Monster Train, playing a creature means deciding where it belongs. Enemies climb through three floors toward the fire you’re protecting. A sturdy defender downstairs might buy time for something nastier upstairs.

Our Algebra suggests Slay the Spire + Into the Breach. Maybe it’s the extra question attached to your hand: where does this need to happen? You’re building combinations of cards, but placement and the order of your creatures matter too. Mixing two clans gives you more ways to make the arrangement work.

The route between battles is fairly simple, and there’s little story to linger over. Most of the interest is in what your deck can do during a fight.

Our recommendation

Try it if you like finding a ridiculous card combination, then having to work out where to put it.
