We’d describe Core Keeper as Stardew Valley + Terraria. You make a home underground, then explore the caves around it for ore, equipment and bosses.
Back at base, there are crops to grow, fish to catch and food to cook. A haul of ore means better tools for the next trip. If you enjoy getting ready for an expedition as much as the expedition itself, there’s plenty to keep you busy.
The catch is how much digging comes between discoveries. Some players also find the bosses a little easy once they’re properly equipped.
Our recommendation
Try it if you kept wishing Stardew’s mines went on longer. It’s also a good fit for a group where one person wants to build, another wants to farm and someone else just wants to fight things.
